Để học về đầu tư (đầu tư bất kỳ thứ gì, không chỉ chứng khoán) thì không gì tốt hơn bằng hãy đọc cuốn sách “Nhà đầu tư thông minh” (The Intelligent Investor) của Benjamin Graham. Có thể phần lớn người ở Việt Nam chưa nghe về cuốn sách này, nhưng có thể so sánh như sau: cuốn sách này có thể xem như là Kinh Thánh trong lĩnh vực đầu tư chứng khoán. Nó dựng lên nền tảng để từ đó bao nhiêu thế hệ nhà đầu tư và học giả phát triển thành các lý thuyết và phương pháp đầu tư hiện đại mà thế giới hiện đang áp dụng.
Cuốn sách xuất bản năm 1949. Có rất nhiều câu chuyện lý thú xung quanh cuốn sách và tác giả của nó. Chẳng hạn, rất nhiều bạn trẻ thời đó sau khi đọc cuốn sách đã tìm đến lớp học về đầu tư của tác giả Benjamin Graham. Nhờ lớp học đó, hầu hết những học trò của Graham sau này đều trở thành triệu phú và tỉ phú nhờ kinh doanh và đầu tư, trong đó nổi bất nhất chính là Warren Buffett (người giàu thứ hai thế giới hiện nay, chỉ sau Bill Gates). Buffett là học trò duy nhất nhận được điểm A+ trong suốt sự nghiệp dạy học của Graham; và cũng giống như một số học trò khác, Buffet xem Graham là người cha thứ hai của mình. Sau này họ thậm chí còn lấy tên của thầy Graham để đặt tên cho con trai của mình để ghi nhận sự ảnh hưởng lớn lao của Graham đối với họ (đó là theo văn hóa của người Mỹ, còn người Việt không bao giờ làm vậy).

The Diploma in French Studies (known in French as the Diplôme d’études en langue française) is a certification of French-language abilities for non-native speakers of French, administered by France’s International Centre for French Studies (Centre international d’études pédagogiques, or CIEP) for the country’s Ministry of Education. It is composed of four independent diplomas corresponding to the first four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The “Proficient User” divisions are certified by the DALF.

The subject of multiphase flows encompasses a vast field, a host of different technological contexts, a wide spectrum of different scales, a broad range of engineering disciplines and a multitude of different analytical approaches. Not surprisingly, the number of books dealing with the subject is voluminous. For the student or researcher in the field of multiphase flow this broad spectrum presents a problem for the experimental or analytical methodologies that might be appropriate for his/her interests can be widely scattered and difficult to find. The aim of the present text is to try to bring much of this fundamental understanding together into one book and to present a unifying approach to the fundamental ideas of multiphase flows. Consequently the book summarizes those fundamental concepts with relevance to a broad spectrum of multiphase flows. It does not pretend to present a comprehensive review of the details of any one multiphase flow or technological context though reference to books providing such reviews is included where appropriate. This book is targeted at graduate students and researchers at the cutting edge of investigations into the fundamental nature of multiphase flows; it is intended as a reference book for the basic methods used in the treatment of multiphase flows.

This is one of the traditional textbooks of reservoir engineering that has survived the pass of time because of its undoubtful quality. The book has a considerable number of solved and proposed exercises and the subjects are presented in a manner very easy to understand. It was originally written at the time in which material balance calculations were the basic algoritm used by reservoir engineers to characterize hidrocarbon reservoirs. As such, this book is organized in terms of the material balance equation: it goes from material balance applied to dry gas, the next chapter is about material balance applied to gas-condensate, then undersaturated and so on, until all diferent fluids are covered. A variety of procedures to do the material balance calculations are presented, many of them of little or no usefulness today and definitely not even mentioned in modern reservoir engineering courses. Important topics such as PVT are dispersed in all the chapters. Other such as pressure testing and inmiscible displacement are covered without adequate depth. Numerical simulation is not even an entry in the subject index. In summary, if your interest is to read about material balance methods in reservoir engineering, this is the book to pick. If you are seeking a general view of the subject then there are better options.
