Nhưng như Tố Hữu viết:

“Tiếng đàn xưa đứt ngang dây

Hai trăm năm lại càng say lòng người”

L.Tônxtôi cũng đã từng băn khoăn: “thú thật tôi hoàn toàn không biết một trăm năm sau liệu có ai đọc các tác phẩm của tôi không…” (thư ông gửi cho nhà nghiên cứu người Anh Uyliam Rôtxôn ngày 27 – 12 – 1878).

Lênin vĩ đại của chúng ta đã giải đáp nỗi băn khoăn đó: “Tônxtôi đã mất rồi và nước Nga trước cách mạng đã chìm vào dĩ vãn. Nhưng trong di sản của ông có cái không chìm vào dĩ vãng, có cái thuộc về tương lai. Di sản đó, giai cấp vô sản Nga đón lấy và nghiên cứu nó”.

Trong những ngày đánh trả mãnh liệt cuộc chiến tranh phá hoại man rợ bằng không quân của đế quốc Mỹ xâm lược, trên miền Bắc, sinh viên Việt nam vẫn viết những đề tài nghiên cứu về chiến tranh nhân dân, về con đường đi tìm lý tưởng của Anđrây Bônkônxki, Pier Bêzukhôv trong tiểu thuyết Chiến tranh và hoà bình

Aragông cho biết: Đã có một thời gian ở Pháp, người ta không thể đi trên xe lửa mà không thấy những người đọc Chiến tranh và hoà bình của Tônxtôi. Cuốn tiểu thuyết này có lẽ là tác phẩm lớn nhất, chưa từng thấy, được người Pháp say mê vào những năm 1942 – 1943.

Năm 1943, một nhà thơ lớn, một người cách mạng Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ bắt đầu dịch nửa đầu Chiến tranh và Hoà bình ở torng tù. Năm 1960, một nhà văn Pháp đã nói rất hay về sức sống của tác phẩm Tônxtôi: “Khi đọc lại chiến tranh và hoà bình tôi cảm thấy trước mắt tôi không phải một giai đoạn đã qua mà là bí mật đã mất”.

Tônxtôi rất có ý thức trong việc tìm tòi một thể loại thích hợp cho “chiên tranh và hoà bình”. Bởi thể hiện loại không phải chỉ là chuyện hình thức. Chính Tônxtôi cũng thấy từ Puskin, Gôngôn đến Đôxtôiepxki, không nhà văn Nga nào chịu bó mình trong khuôn khổ của những thể loại sẵn có như truyện trường ca, tiểu thuyết. Trong một bản thảo lời nói đầu ông viết: “Chiến tranh và hoà bình” là gì? Đó không phải là tiểu thuyết cũng không phải là trường ca hay sử biên niên. Chiến tranh và hoà bình là cái tác giả muốn và có thể diễn rả trong hình thức mà cái đó đã được diễn tả. và khi tác phẩm in thành sách riêng, dưới nhan để của nó, tác giả chỉ ghi: “Sáng tác của bá tước L.N.Tônxtôi”.

Do miêu tả chuộc chiến tranh yêu nước 1812 như biến cố trung tâm có ý nghãi quyết định không chỉ vận mệnh nước Nga mà toàn châu Âu, miêu tả số phận của cả dân tộc, nhiều tầng lớp xã hội rộng rãi trong một thời điểm nghiêm trọng trong lịch sử đất nước, Chiến tranh và hoà bình mang dáng dấp rõ rệt của một thiên anh hùng ca.

Nguyễn Thành Luân là cán bộ kháng chiến. Do yêu cầu công tác Cách mạng, ông được Tổ chức đưa về thành để hoạt động tình báo. Vốn có quan hệ với giám mục Ngô Đình Thục và được ông này nhận làm con nuôi, Nguyễn Thành Luân được ông Thục giới thiệu từ Giáo sứ Vĩnh Long về Sài Gòn để giúp cho người em của Giám mục Thục là tổng thống Ngô Đình Diệm. Nhờ có sự đỡ đầu của Ngô Đình Thục nên Nguyễn Thành Luân được Diệm đặc biệt tin tưởng, ông trở thành một khuôn mặt được ưu ái trong chế độ Ngô Đình Diệm. Tuy nhiên, đối thủ của Nguyễn Thành Luân lại chính là Ngô Đình Nhu – một người em khác của Ngô Đình Thục, phụ trách công tác mật vụ. Cái quá khứ tham gia kháng chiến trong hàng ngũ Việt minh của Nguyễn Thành Luân khiến cho Nhu nghi ngờ và bí mật theo dõi ông. Rất nhiều trong số những khái niệm và nhận thức của chúng ta được xây dựng dựa trên những định kiến và quy ước. Những gì được cho là tốt, xấu, hay, dở… ở một nơi này lại rất có thể sẽ không được đánh giá tương tự như thế ở một nơi khác. Đơn giản chỉ là vì những định kiến và quy ước khác nhau. Một số khái niệm khác được xây dựng thuần túy dựa trên kinh nghiệm quan sát những quy luật tự nhiên, và do đó không có sự khác biệt lớn ở những địa phương khác nhau trên thế giới, và cũng không thay đổi bao nhiêu khi thời gian trôi qua. Sự vận hành của trời đất bao la này bao giờ cũng gắn liền với những thay đổi tưởng chừng như rất nhỏ nhoi trong tự thân mỗi người. Và chính điều đó đã mang đến cho mùa xuân những giá trị chung không gì có thể thay thế được trong nhận thức của con người, cho dù là ở bất cứ nơi đâu trên thế giới, cũng như vào bất cứ thời đại nào.

This book provides a very detailed reference source for most aspects of drilling engineering. It covers everything from bit design to hydraulics to derived burst, collapse and tension equations for casing design. Diagrams and pictures are well presented and helpful in explaining some of the subject matter. The only thing that is lacking is a chapter on drilling optimization.

Pipes are of major importance for transport of liquids and gas mainly for water, natural gas and oil. The total length of gas pipes in the world is estimated at one million kilometres for gas transport (pipes with a diameter of 80 to 1000 mm). Pipelines remain the least expensive transcontinental means of transport compared to rail-bound or terrestrial transport. It has become increasingly paramount to ensure the safe utilisation of such plant in order to prevent economical, social and ecological losses. From a technical point of view, pipelines are complicated three dimensional structures that include straight pipes, nozzles, pipe-bends, dissimilar welded joints, etc. In addition, their operating conditions can be quite severe, that is, internal pressure and cyclic loading (vibration) combined with the influence of internal and external corrosive environments. The external defects, e.g., corrosion defects, gouge, foreign object scratches, and pipeline erection activities are major failure reasons of gas pipelines. All these types of defects and associated failure are described.

Leak and fracture of pipes is assumed to be done by initiation and propagation of defect and final failure when defect has reached a critical length.

In this book, the three two major defect assessment tools for pipes are presented :

i) the failure assessment diagram and particularly the SINTAP procedure,

ii) limit analysis,

iii) strain design approach

Methods of defect repair are based on investigation findings. Methods such as welded sleeve, repair clamp composite sleeve, grinding, pipe replacement are described.
