OFFSHORE STANDARDDNV-OS-F101 SUBMARINE PIPELINE SYSTEMS JANUARY 2000 Reprint with amendments and corrections as of January 2003 DET NORSKE VERITASA 300 Scope and Application301 This standard applies to rigid metallic submarine pipe-line systems as defined in C 200, for the transportation of fluidsof categorisation as defined in Section 2 and made of linepipe material as given in Section 6.302 This standard applies to the design, materials, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, operation, repair, re-qualification, and abandonment of submarine pipeline systems used in the petroleum and natural gas industries.303 This standard is applicable to single systems, pipeline bundles of the piggyback type, and pipeline bundles encasedwithin a carrier pipe.
304 This standard is not applicable to flexible pipes or dynamic or compliant risers.
305 Umbilicals intended for control of subsea installations are not included in this standard. Individual pipes, within anumbilical, made of materials applicable to this standard, may be designed according to this standard.306 This standard is applicable for installation by S-lay, J-lay, towing and laying methods introducing plastic deforma-tions. Installation requirements for risers as well as protective and anchoring structures are also included.
